Hi, I am Luca
I am a project manager. A parent. An expat living in Florence, Italy.
A few years ago, I moved here with my family. What began as a temporary assignment gradually unfolded into a new chapter of life abroad.
How It Started
Moving to Italy wasn’t in the long-range plan. As with many expat relocations, it started as a job opportunity and soon grew into something far more significant.
The initial months were demanding — unfamiliar systems, routines, and expectations. Daily chores seemed more complex than expected.
The Transition Phase
There was cultural shock, doubt, and plenty of hands-on learning. Yet gradually routines took shape. We found spots that suited us, connected with other families, and began crafting something that felt steady.
Why I Built Misty Nectar Haven
Most online guidance was either corporate relocation tips or shallow tourism content. What was missing was a candid, everyday family viewpoint.
This site aims to fill that gap—practical advice drawn from real life in Italy.
What This Site Is (And Isn't)
This site IS:
- Practical know-how from living in Italy
- Centered on family life and everyday realities
- Updated whenever a real change occurs
This site ISN'T:
- A tourism authority resource
- Sponsored review platform
- A generic travel blog
Looking Ahead
Our time in Italy continues, and so does the learning process. As long as the information remains useful, I’ll keep recording what we discover.
If you have questions about family life in Florence or anywhere in Italy, feel free to contact me.
Best regards,
Luca
